Thermofin, Germany Make Industrial Evaporators

Thermofin®evaporators are used for different applications in commercial and industrial cooling. You can select between high efficient series with staggered tube system or series with in line tube system and a large surface for more sensitive applications. Thanks to the numerous equipment and accessories possibilities, all our units are versatile.

Evaporators

High efficiency ceiling-mounted evaporators for refrigeration rooms in supermarkets, gastronomy and trade, deep freezing

Housing
The standard housing is made of aluminium (lines 040, 045, 050) or galvanized steel sheet (lines 063, 071, 080, 091) with powder coating in RAL9010. Optional: Housing made of stainless steel.

Heat exchanger coil
The tube system is arranged in line with stainless steel tubes, Ø 16 mm. Fins are made of pure aluminium with a distance of 4, 7, 10 or 12 mm between the fins. The refrigerant connection is located on the right side in air direction. To avoid oxidation the heat exchangers are generally welded under inert gas. Optional: Fins made of epoxy-coated aluminium

Defrosting
The electrical defrosting in heat exchanger coil and tray is wired ready for connection on a terminal box according to EN 60204-1. Hot gas defrosting in coil and tray, also available with integrated non-return valve. Separate hot gas or heat transfer medium circuit in coil or tray possible. In case of using water defrosting the total height of the unit increases by approx. 100 mm. For the operation at low cold storage temperatures we offer electrical fan ring heaters.

Drip tray
The drip trays are made of AlMg3 with a powder coating in RAL 9010. The condensation drainage is made of polyamide. The connection is threaded. The drip trays are tiltable for cleaning purposes. For rooms with temperatures below -25 °C and chill rooms we recommend using insulated drip trays. Optional: Drip tray made of stainless steel.

Sound pressure levels
The sound pressure level is indicated at 3 m distance according to DIN 45635, part 14 without reflection. Since cold storages have only a very low absorbing capacity, we recommend anticipating a small decrease at other distances. The indicated value is only a reference value. The actual sound pressure level must be calculated on basis of the sound power level and taking prevailing conditions into account.

Defrosting
Electrical defrosting in heat exchanger coil is wired ready for connection on two terminal boxes according to EN 60204-1. For a better heat transfer and replaceability the heating resistors are placed in contact tubes made of aluminium.  

Drip tray
All drip trays are made of aluminium with a powder coating in RAL9010. The condensation drainage is made of aluminium. The connection is threaded. The drip trays are tiltable for cleaning purposes

Insulated cell
The steam-tight insulated cell is available with insulated wall thicknesses between 80 and 200 mm. The outer cell layer consists of powder-coated galvanised steel plate in RAL 9010. Optionally, the cells are available in stainless steel sheet and with a weather-proof roof. In standard design, the insulated cell is additionally equipped with an interior illumination, a steam-tight lockable access door and electrical heaters in door and damper frames which are selfregulating and redundant. All electrical components are centrally mounted in an external control cabinet. 

Damper design
The defrost dampers of the insulated cooler are driven by electronic servomotors and equipped with the TFC control system. The size of defrost dampers is selected according to the case of application. In the penthouse cooler, the light-weight construction damper system of the penthouse cooler optimises the air supply inside of the cell and reduces the energy consumption during the defrost process to a minimum. 

Floor design
In insulated coolers, the accessible floor panel is completely made of stainless steel and is water-tightly bonded. The integrated drip tray made of stainless steel with a free drainage is centrally or laterally arranged. In penthouse coolers, a double and insulated drip tray made of aluminium is directly mounted below the heat exchanger. In standard design, the accessible floor panel and the step grid above the air inlet are made of galvanised steel. 

Heat exchanger
The heat exchangers are optimised for every case of application. The material selection for the core tube, the fins and the front plate as well as the selection of the fin spacing and the fin pattern are effected according to the case of application. Air coolers with coolants (water glycol mixture) and evaporators in pump operation or with direct expansion for all refrigerants (HFC, NH ,CO ) are available 

Defrost process
The defrost process of the tray and the heat exchanger can be effected electrically, with hot gas, with glycol or hot air.  

Operating temperature range
The minimum ambient temperature in standard design is -30 °C. Special designs are available up to -50 °C.  

Fans
Fans can be selected with axial or radial mode of operation. Depending on the control, AC or EC motors can be used. Standard version: 3~ 400 V, protection class IP 54, insulation class F. Depending on customers‘ requirements, wiring on a repair switch is possible according to EN 60204-1.
